From time to time, there may be issues with internet access at the library. All library desk volunteers should be able to deal with a simple re-set of the router, which usually resolves most problems. Here are step-by-step instructions on doing this.

1) When you are sure there is no internet access via wifi in the library, locate the key to cupboard 10 in the blackboard cupboard/key cupboard. It’s on the bottom row, far right

2) Use this key to open cupboard 10 in the corridor (nearest the cleaning cupboard

3) Open the glass door to the communications cabinet

4) Locate the on/off switch (it’s the large red button, bottom right

5) remove the plastic cover, and toggle the switch to off and wait ten seconds

6) toggle the switch on again. It will make a loud, long beep, which sounds scary but is normal

7) replace the plastic cover over the switch and lock up

It takes about 2 minutes for the service to boot back up again. If this does not resolve the issue, ring Zen, our internet provider, on 01706 902001
