It’s still 2023 as I write, but soon it will be 2024 and we’ll be off again on our library adventures. Friday 5th is Twelfth Night. There’s some ambiguity over whether Twelfth Night is 5th or 6th January – it’s supposed to be 12 days after Christmas, but the date depends on whether you start counting from Christmas Day (ie you include the 25th) or start from the 26th. It’s either Epiphany or it’s not, a bit like Schrodinger’s Cat. The reason I’m mentioning it is that this signals it’s time to get the Christmas decorations tidied away for another year. In my house, it’s always been the 5th. I don’t know about you, but, happy as I was to get the sparkly Christmas decos up, I can’t rip them down fast enough on Twelfth Night. So, this means that whoever is lucky enough to be on library duty on Friday 5th, you are kindly requested to take down and tidy away the Christmas Decos until next year.
There are three new bags for this (in cupboard 10, from memory), to hold the Christmas tree, baubles, and lovely crocheted christmas jumper bunting. If the stars fit, please put them in there too. The white lights along the shelves are general event lights and they live in boxes under the counter.
