Cricklewood Library will be taking part in the Summer Fun Festival reading challenge organised by Brent Libraries. The reading challenge is aimed at 4 – 12 year olds and the themes this year are fiery dragons, smelly pirates, Lego challenges and rainforest drama. However, children can read any book as part of the challenge.
If children are interested in books related to the themes this year, there is a Summer Fun Festival tag in the library catalogue which will list the books in the collection related to the themes. This can be found by searching “Summer Fun Festival” in the catalogue:
Children wanting to take part in the Summer Fun Festival challenge are asked to read 6 books and will receive a reading record and bookmark.
The reading record and bookmark look like this:
Once children have read a book, they will receive a stamp in their reading record.
The stamp that goes inside the reading record looks like this:
Once children have read their 6 books and collected all 6 stamps, they will receive a certificate and badge for completing the challenge.
