A few of you have commented recently that the Barclays representative has been leaving early, before the library closes on Wednesdays. Barclays are aware of this – the staff are permitted to leave for meetings and so on, when there are no customers in with them. I know that several customers have come looking for Barclays after the rep has left. People who do this are turning up ‘on spec’, when Barclays specifically market the service as by appointment.
Barclays customers arriving without an appointment after they have left for the day should be reminded that they need to make an appointment to attend and referred back to their website. Barclays will be leaving an A-board to advertise their service, which makes it clear that they are there by appointment on Wednesdays. They have asked if we can put this out every day we are open. It will be stored indoors alongside our own A-board.
